Check This Out! Egg House's Souffle Pancakes

Looking for dessert after eating at a super spicy tteokbokki from a Korean cafe in the area we've stumbled upon this new dessert shop in SM North Edsa in Quezon City. It's called Egg House. By gauging at the interiors, it seems brand new.

Apparently, they just opened last August of this year.

The quaint cafe specialized in souffle pancakes. You know those fluffy, cloud-like, airy pancakes made with egg whites whisked like a meringue and invented by Hawaiians? Yes, they did it first, but enough of that, this isn't about the history of the pancake.

When we arrived, it was packed full. There were no vacant tables. But alas unknown to us at first there was a vacant table at the back connecting to the wall.

The interior is mostly egg-style (I just invented this term) akin to the famed Eggslut's branding but with Japanese tones. I don't know but there is a "morning" vibe when you're inside like you're in some cafe in Japan and the sunlight peeks to the glass walls. I think it's the lighting. I liked it.

I ordered their Egg House Set (+50.00), a pair of souffle pancake of your choice and soft serve ice cream. On the menu, the flavor choices they have, which is the cream cheese sauce they pour over the pancake are the regular Fluffy Clouds (160.00), Kyoto Matcha (220.00), Coffee-misu (160.00), Creme Brulee (180.00), and Triple Dark Choco (220.00). Of course, me who is a matcha connoisseur opted for the Kyoto Matcha. For their ice cream they offer Vanilla, Matcha, or a combination of both. I'm not sure if they change their soft serve flavors every day. Of course, again, I opted for the combination one though if you want just the soft serve it is also available. Other offerings on their menu are Milk-based Beverages, Caneles Pastry, and I believe they also do savory souffle pancakes with egg. Quite intriguing I do say.

Verdict. It was surprisingly good. Flavor-wise. The pancake is just right in sweetness and the sauce is made with a cream cheese base. The serving design, plain simple on an open box. The matcha flavor is there being enhanced the sweetness of the sauce. I know the matcha is legit (I forgot the brand) by looking at the color and because they are not ashamed to sell it by their merchandise shelf (together with other merch). I mean what kind of Japanese cafe brand are you if you're not using legit matcha, right?

The souffle pancake doesn't even deflate! Usually, souffle pancakes are difficult to achieve because they deflate and fall down around the plate hence why no one usually sells it in typical cafes, but they did it. You can even order one for take-out.
